Operation Sindoor: India Responds To Pahalgam Attack With Precision Strikes On 9 Terror Sites

Operation Sindoor: India Strikes 9 Terror Camps in Pakistan: In the early hours of Wednesday, the Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The strikes hit areas such as Muridke and Bahawalpur, which are known strongholds of the terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The attacks took place at 1:44 am and were launched in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in Jammu & Kashmir’s Anantnag district, on 22 April. That attack claimed 26 lives — 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen.

Responding to India’s action, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country has “every right to respond forcefully to this act of war”. He added that the Pakistani nation and armed forces know how to deal with the enemy and will never allow them to achieve their malicious objectives.

India’s strikes came just hours ahead of a planned nationwide security mock drill, set to be held across 244 districts, aimed at testing civil defence preparedness in the event of a hostile attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to hunt down the perpetrators and masterminds of the Pahalgam attack, promising to punish them ‘beyond their imagination’.
